Shelby County (MO) Herald, Feb. 28, 1894- Uncle John Stevens of near Enterprise, south of Clarence, is quite sick of consumption, and his recovery is doubtful. He is a prominent man of Jefferson township.

Death notice (Shelby County (MO) Herald, Mar. 28, 1894)- John S. Stephens of Jefferson township died last week. (Should be John C. Stephens)

Burial notice (Macon (MO) Times, Mar. 30, 1894)- Woodville Warbles- John Stevens, who has been very low with consumption, was buried at Shakeroy (s/b Shake Rag) burying ground. He leaves a wife and several children.
