Obituary (Clarence (MO) Courier, 1934)- Mrs. Elizabeth Fifer, a well known resident of Clarence, passed away Monday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Sage, of this city. She had been in declining health several months, but had been seriously ill only the past two or three weeks. Elizabeth Stephens Fifer was born in Monroe County June 30, 1848 and was past 86 years of age at the time of her death. She was married in the year 1867 to Elisha Fifer, and to this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Dollie Garlow, who passed away a year ago, and Mrs. Mary Sage, who had tenderly cared for her mother. Besides one daughter, she is also survived by one granddaughter, Betty Jane Sage, and her sons-in-law, Emmett Sage, and Lindsay Garlow. She was a member of the Methodist church of Clarence, and her life exemplified her faith. Funeral services will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church conducted by Rev. Wm. Rutherford, who will be assisted by Rev. L.C. Maggart, her former pastor, of Shelbina.
