Paul Eugene Reid, age 86, of Muscle Shoals, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allsboro Presbyterian Church. His body will be placed at noon to lie in state. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Reid was a Colbert County native and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a lifelong farmer, served in the Army during World War II and served for 14 years on the Colbert County Commission.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche McKinney Reid; daughters, Paulette Reid Moss, of Athens, Brigitte Reid McLain and husband, Mike, and Jennifer Reid, all of Birmingham; brother, W.A. Reid Jr., of Tuscumbia; sisters, Sue Reid Malone, of Cherokee, Mae Reid Hyden, of Allsboro; grandchildren, Nicole Grillet, of Kennesaw, Ga., Erica Moss, of San Diego, Calif., and Reid McLain, of Birmingham.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
His family would like to thank all of the nurses and caretakers of station No. 3. at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home for all their loving care.
