FRANKLIN Russell Crowe,37 year-old former three sport star at Franklin high school and a member of the prominent Crowes family here was found dead of ah overdose of sleepipg tablets in his brother's Berkley, California home Saturday night. He was an apparent suicide victim.

The victim, who had been residing at his brother Robert's home in Berkley for the past two months apparently took his life shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday.

A 1944 graduate of Franlin high school was an outstanding athlete and earned several varsity letters in basketball, football, and track. He established several records and was all South Central Conference performer in just about every sport.

Born in Whiteland in 1925, Crowe attended school in Franklin where he lived most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, who resides at 434 West Madison street, six children; Bruce, 13, Denice, 12, Rick,10, Bryan, 9, Brad, 8, and Jill 2.

He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs, John Hunt, of Franklin; seven brothers; Ray, Travis, Richard, Ralph, Robert, Bill and George; and two sisters; Miss Sylvester Crowe of Franklin and Miss Augusta crowe, of New York, N.Y.

The body will be returned to he Maguire Funeral Home here and funeral arrangements will be announced later this week.
