Billy A. Crowe was born May 31, 1930, in Whiteland Indiana to Tom Ann and Morten Crowe. He was the last of 10 children, the baby of 8 boys and 2 girls. Billy attended grade school in Franklin IN and graduated from Franklin High School in 1948. While attending (Indiana Central College) University of Indianapolis he was drafted by the U.S Army, but he chose to enlist in the U. S Marines Corps. He served his country and was honorably discharged in 1952.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Ann and Morten Crowe, his wife, Dyrthene, two sisters, Augustus and Sylvester, seven brothers, Ray, Travis, George, Robert, Richard, Russel, and Ralph.

Billy was stationed in California where he met and married Verna Louise Wilson. To this marriage was born a son, Barry Crowe. After the dissolution of his marriage, Billy returned to Indianapolis where he worked for various companies such as Ford and International Harvester. In 1958, he was employed by the Marion County Department of Probation as a Probation Officer. In 1960 he was promoted to Chief Probation Officer of Marion County and retired in 1990 with 32 years of service.

In 1956, an acquaintance introduced him to Dyrthene R. Brannon. Their romance flourished and on December 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Dyrthene. To this union was born a daughter, Karen B. Crowe (Crawford).

Billy A Crowe leaves to cherish his life, daughter, Karen Crowe Crawford (John), son, Barry Crowe, two granddaughters and several great- grandchildren as well as bonus grandchildren, bonus great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
