2. FAMILY: 1870-1900 Census show 9 children-Sarah, Viola, Rook (J.R.), William, Malcolm, George, Hannah, Cora, & Lenora.(NOTE: Sarah is not found in the 1880 census, may have died in AL, TX, or some where in between.)
3. MILITARY: J. T. Dunklin, Private, Company F., 20th AL Infantry, Confederate States Army, enlisted 28 MAR 1862 & was captured 16 DEC 1864 near Nashville, Tennessee, and took the oath of Allegiance June 12, 1865, at Camp Chase, Ohio.
Pension #16386-Approved 31 AUG 1909; Cancelled 10-22-23 because of extensive stay in Alabama; Re-Instated on 9 FEB 1925.
(NOTE: While John & Emily were visiting family in Alabama, Emily became ill, was hospitalized, had 2 operations, & was eventually diagnosed with cancer. John had to leave her and come back to Texas permanently to re-apply for his pension.)
