She was employed by Central Heights School Dist. for 35 years retiring in 1997. She served as secretary to the superintendent and clerk of the board.
She was a member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church of Rantoul, Evelena Chapter 435 Order of the Eastern Star in Lane Ottawa Lodge 803 BPOE and Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
Survivors include two sons Dr Lynn Betz & wife Sherian, Stephen H. Betz & wife Judy, two daughters Sandra Benton & husband Lynn, Katherine Williams 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and one great great
She is preceded in death by husband, brother Earl Hicks and sister Nadine Peters
