Obituary: Bill Victor
Bill Warder Victor, 82, of Red Oak, Iowa, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the First Christian Church in Red Oak with the Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak.
Mr. Victor was born Aug. 26, 1917, in Boone County to William and Helen Baumgardner Victor.
He married Betty Hungate on Aug. 31, 1940, in Columbia, and she survives.
He graduated from Hickman High School and attended the University of Missouri. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He received the South Pacific Air Corp Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He had been employed by the Thos. D. Murphy Calendar Co. for 25 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Red Oak.
Survivors also include a daughter, Susan Perry of Bradenton, Fla.; two sons, Marshall Victor of Bernardston, Mass., and Steven Victor of Pittsburgh; a brother, Mac Victor of Bedford, Texas; two sisters, Betty Coleman of Columbia and Janis Edick of Fairfax, Va.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three sisters and a brother.
