PAUL BENDER was born in Germany in 1810. He married LUCY KURTZ, also born in Germany. The had eight children. All of Paul's children were born in Germany. Paul came to America in 1845 with two of his sons, John, and Englebert. He brought all the rest of his family to the U.S. just a year and one half later. He settled in Clearfield Township, Cambria County, and he and Lucy are both buried in St. Augustine.
