Back of photo sent back to Loquard Germany in 1930s and copied when I visited Weets relatives there in 2007 "unser Schwägerin Gertrud Weets mit ihre Mann Peter Henning". Marriage certificate lists Gertrud's father as Heinrich Huesges and mother as Maria Huesges.

Also, son Henry Weets immigrated 11 years prior with 'Aunt & Uncle' Harm Risius & Wife Anna (who said in 1925 father was Henry Hüsges. Loquard OSB lists Harm and Anna (entry 1735, p303) and lists her as "Anna Hüsges, Dienstmagd zu Wybelsum". A search of the Wybelsum OSB at the Ostfriesian Genealogical Society of America (OGSA) Library found no Hüsges or variants in Wybelsum.

Birth Date: Grave marker says Jan 14, 1881 (thanks so much KarinH), but no birth record yet. She does not appear in Loquard OSB with parents, only as wife of Hinrich Hinderks Weets and mother of their children. Her listing at their marriage says "Dienstmagd zu Rysum" (maid in Rysum). No Hüsges or variants appear in Rysum OSB, so she was born elsewhere.

Religion: Loquard (where Gertrud & Anna's marriages took place) is a Lutheran village. Gertrud is buried in a Lutheran cemetery. 1925 Census stated Lutheran. If record below is correct, mother Suchsland was Lutheran, father Hüsges was "Roman Katholik" and she was baptised in the Catholic church.
