Elizabeth (Alexander) McCrosky was a daughter of Union Township pioneer settlers Archibald and Sarah (Bledsoe) Alexander. She married Blair McCrosky in Mason County, Kentucky on Sep. 14, 1831. The McCrosky's operated one of the first taverns in Union Township located near the future town of Lizton. She was one of the charter members of the Lizton Christian Church founded at her father's home in 1837. Upon her death in 1845, she was the first person buried in what would become the Vieley Cemetery. This founding year is noted on the cemetery's sign.
