Alice K. Barnhart Stumbaugh, 85, formerly of Greencastle, Pennsylvania died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, in Quincy (Pa.) United Methodist Home, where she resided since April 4. She and her husband, Robert E. Stumbaugh, were married on Feb. 11, 1944. He died on May 25, 1997. Arrangements by Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Burial in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

ALICE K. (BARNHART) STUMBAUGH, 85, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 2550 Rogers Drive, Greencastle, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, in the nursing home. She was in failing health for the past year.

Born Oct. 28, 1918, in the Bino area of Antrim Township, she was the daughter of the late Winstred and Florence (Minnich) Barnhart. She lived her early life in the Greencastle area.

She and her husband, Robert E. Stumbaugh, were married Feb. 11, 1944. They moved to the Rogers Drive residence in September 1985. Mr. Stumbaugh died May 25, 1997. She entered the nursing home in April 4, 2003.

Mrs. Stumbaugh worked for various clothing factories in the area. Prior to retiring in 1974, she was a control clerk at Kinney Shoes in Camp Hill.

She was a member of the Macedonia United Brethren Church, Greencastle.

Mrs. Stumbaugh is survived by two sisters, Daisy Southerland of Jacksonville, Fla., and Patricia Myers of Greencastle, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Rinehart, and six brothers, Paul Barnhart, Robert Barnhart, Warren Barnhart, Donald Barnhart, Henry Barnhart and Daniel Barnhart.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

It was Mrs. Stumbaugh's request to have no public viewing. However, the family will receive friends one hour prior to services Wednesday in the funeral home.
