She was the daughter of Samuel Sanchez and Mela (Nelson) Sanchez

Antonia, Martinez, 83, was called home by the Lord Jan. 2, 2010 following a long-term illness. She was born on Nov. 16, 1926, in Dilia, N.M., to the union of Samuel and Mela Sanchez. She married Jose Chano Martinez June 24, 1944, who preceded her in death, along with her parents; brother, Pete Sanchez; and sister, Lorraine Sanchez. She is survived by her children, Debra Martinez, Jake (Michelle Abeyta) Martinez, Rudy (Judy) Martinez, Linda (Joe) Sauceda, Mary (Ben) Gonzalez; siblings, Erinea (Ramon) Gabaldon, Alfonso (Marianne) Sanchez, Lawrence Sanchez, Cecilia (Charles) Wood and Margaret Urioste. Antonia gave 14 years of service to the SRDA as a foster grandparent. She was a very devoted Catholic who lived life to the fullest. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Bill Gleeson as celebrant. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery.
