SAUK CITY/ROXBURY - Mr. George J. Frey, Sr., age 88. of Rt. 2, Sauk City, died on Sunday, February 5, 1978 at his home following a long illness. He was born December 12, 1889 In the Town of Roxbury, and was married to the former Anna Lochner. They resided In the Roxbury area. Mr. Frey was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church, Roxbury and It's Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife, Anna of Roxbury; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Matilda) Schepp of Madison; nine sons, Harold, Bernard, Philip, Howard, Roman, James, Ralph and David, all of the Sauk City area and George, Jr. of Apple Valley, California; a sister, Mrs. Johanna Geier of Stoughton; 59 grandchildren ond 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at THE GNEWIKOW SCHWOEGLER ZIMMERMANN FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City at 10 a.m. and at ST. NORBERT'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Roxbury at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7. Father William Stack will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Monday, February 6 at the funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
