His birthdate is variously listed:
marker - 1888
death certificate - 4/12/1896
Social Security Death Index - 7/8/1891

According to his death certificate (and he apparently confirmed this to family members), his parents were Sam Keesee and Delia Johnson Keesee. There has been some confusion because in the 1900 and 1910 census, he is listed as the son of Nathaniel and Martha Keesee.
