Hazleton Plain Speaker; Saturday, September 25, 1954:
Mrs. George M. Brandau of 54 North James street, died yesterday at the Hazleton State Hospital. She had been ill for the past month. Daughter of the late John L. and Anna Huey, she spent her entire life in Hazleton. Mrs. Brandau served for 27 years as accountant for the Protective Home Circle, retiring from that post earlier this moth. She was a member of the Hazleton Trinity Lutheran Church, the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, the Patriotic Order of America and the Auxiliary of the Drake-Wear Post V.F.W.

Surviving are her husband, George M. Brandau, well-known photographer and three children: George S., of Bloomsburg; James F., of West Hazleton and Lois J., at home. Also surviving are a brother, Edward Huey, of Elizabeth, N.J. and four sisters: Mrs. Sophia Lorcheim, of Roselle Park, N.J.; Mrs. Ella Kreidler, of Allentown; Mrs. Sarah Schuler and Mrs. Nick Reichert, of West Hazleton. Five grandchildren also survive.

The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home with services by Dr. H. C. Bergstresser. Interment will be in the Vine Street Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening.
