She was the daughter of Charles Hall Cessna and Katherine Smouse. I do not know the name of her spouse, only that his last name was Lewis and that she was widowed prior to the 1860 census. I have not found her in the 1850 census record. She was residing with her niece at the time of her death.

Mrs Polly Lewis, of Banks township, died at the home of her niece, Mrs Abraham Tyger, of Canoe township, aged 70 years. The deceased was on a visit when she became sick with typhoid fever. Her remains were interred at Fairview Church graveyard on Sabbath.
