She is survived by her loving family: son Don (Sonja); grandson Ross (Tonya); granddaughter Andrea all of Calgary; son-in-law David Dyck (Sherley); granddaughters Emily and Hillary; step-grandchildren Scott and Kelsey. Predeceased by her husband John, daughter Norma Krill/Dyck, brother Paul Scheffler, half brothers and sisters: Ella, Agnes, Arthur, Otto, Esther and Vera.
Ada was born to August and Mary Scheffler on February 26, 1920 in Castor, Alberta. She moved to Medicine Hat, AB as a young girl and met her husband John while working at Beny Motors, Medicine Hat and married him on June 2, 1945. She spent her years in Medicine Hat raising her family and working using her bookkeeping and accounting skills. She and John retired to Kelowna in 1972. She loved an active lifestyle filled with sewing, crocheting, crafts and gardening. Her faith and church life was important. She enjoyed fellowship with her church family playing the organ, piano and singing with her church choir. Throughout her life, Ada enjoyed camping and fishing with John, family and friends.
A service celebrating Ada's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Road, Kelowna, BC with Pastor Ed Skutshek officiating. Interment to follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society-Breast Cancer Research, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1P6.
