Martha Louise Callahan, 72, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ollie Rogers Black and John Black; husband, Russell S. Callahan; sister, Carolyn Thomason; brother, Wilburn Black and his wife, Georgetta Black; infant brother, Johnny Darrell Black.

She worked most of her life as a seamstress for Hardwicks and American Uniform.

She was of the Christian faith. She loved animals, gardening, flowers, vegetables and also liked to fish.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Callahan of Cleveland; son, Tim Callahan and his wife, Debbie, of Decatur; brothers: Rick Black and his wife, Glenda, and Tony Black, all of Cleveland; grandchildren: April Long and Sean Callahan, both of Cleveland, and Cody Callahan of Decatur; two great-grandchildren: River Long and Vallie Long, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Gary Farris and the Rev. Steve Miller officiating.

Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
