F R Tillman Dies at 82
F R Tillman, Sr., 82, of Tupelo, father of Dr. C P Tillman of Houston, died Monday at 5:30 am, at the North Mississippi Medical Center following an illness of more than a year.
Mr. Tillman, a native of Copiah county, was a retired electrician and had resided in Pontotoc, Oxford, and Somerville, Tn. before moving to Tupelo 10 years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted from the W E Pegues Funeral Home Chapel in Tupelo at 2 pm, Tuesday. Interment was in the Pontotoc Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Nimmons officiating.
He was married in 1915 in Pontotoc to Libbie Shannon who survives.
In addition to his wife he leaves five sons, Francis R Tillman, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla., James S Tillman of Miami, Fla., Dr. C P Tillman of Houston, Hayden Tillman of Tupelo and Homer Tillman of Memphis; one sister, Mrs. R J Knovlock of Forest, 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Tillman, Charlie Tillman, Jimmy Tillman, Randy Stepherson, Steven Weil and James Neill.
