CONCORD - Mr. John Bunyan Brooks, 81, of 145 Union Street North, Concord, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center. Born on Dec.10, 1927, in Cabarrus County to the late Roland Alexander Brooks and the late Beatrice (Green) Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a retired Director of NC Law Enforcement A.L.E. He was a charter member of The State Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, and attended Concord A.R.P. Church. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel Concord on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at 2 p.m, with the Rev. Mark McClamrock officiating. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Plaza Mausoleum in Kannapolis. He is survived by his wife, Betty P. Brooks of the home; son, John Brooks, Jr. and wife, Tawana, of Concord; daughters, Susanne Honeycutt and husband, Johnny, of Charlotte and Betsy B.
