George Brill

George Brill was born June 9, 1861, in Rome, New York, the son of George Brill and Frances Vanhousen. He came to Nebraska with his parents, the late Judge and Mrs. Wall.
When a young man, he spent a number of years in Nance, Wyo., as a rancher. He was also associated with the railroad as a mail clerk for a number of years at Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he met and married Anna Poast in 1892. Shortly after they were married they returned to Loup City. Mr. Brill carried mail on the star route for many years. His wife, Anna, preceded him in death in 1938.
Survivors are two foster children, Ed Roesler of Grand Island and Mrs. Anna Chapman of Rockville; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Johanson [sic] of Chula Vista, Calif. and three nieces [sic] and two nephews.
The past few years he made his residence at Comstock, Nebr., in the home of Mrs. Hiblightner.
On December 29 he was brought to the hospital and passed away December 31, at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 22 days.
Services were held at the Steele Funeral Home, January 3, at 2 p. m. with Rev. James Harris in charge. Pallbearers were Robert Jenner, Martin Foley, Fred Sherman, Cyrus Whitehead, Clark Reynolds and Minor Steele. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

NOTE: I believe the parents mentioned above are in error. Adeline was definitely the wife of Judge Wall. Maybe there was "Frances" in her name. Adeline was once married to Augustus Brill.
