Dorothy Bertha Swanson, age 93, of Rochester, MN (formery of Stromsburg, NE) passed away January 22, 2012 at Golden Living West Nursing Home in Rochester,MN.
Dorothy was born June 29, 1918 to Adolph and Bertha Hulda (Kramer) Camenish in LaSalle, IL. She attended LaSalle-Peru High School, graduating in 1936.
On November 2, 1940, she was united in marriage to Frank Everett Swanson at McCausland, IA. To this union three children were born. Dorothy was a homemaker. Everett worked as an accountant. They lived in various places including Aurora,IL, until the mid 1950's. They then moved to Rochester, MN until 1977 when they semi-retired to Hemet, CA, and finally retiring to Stromsburg on April 7, 1998.
Everett passed away July 12, 2001. Dorothy later moved to Rochester, MN to live with her son, David, where she resided until her passing.
Dorothy was a Bible teacher, Sunday School teacher, Child Evangelism worker and a Women's Retreat speaker.
Survivors include her children, Kathleen (Raymond)Nelson of Stromsburg, and David (Susan)Swanson of Rochester, MN, son-in-law Bill Mosso of St. Paul, MN, four grandchildren,one great granddaughter, one brother Jim Camenisch of Atlanta, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Everett Swanson, one daughter Dorothy C. Mosso, her parents Adolph and Bertha Camenish, one brother Harold Camenisch and one sister Doris Walz.
