Doris Sellers Dellinger

May 15, 1918 - July 22, 2011


Mrs. Dellinger was born in Mitchell County, and had lived in Albany since 1928. She graduated from Albany High School in 1936 and was voted most athletic. She was captain on the Indians 1936 basketball team.


Mrs. Dellinger was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and served on a number of committees. Mrs. Dellinger worked at Southern Bell for 43 years, retiring as Business Office Supervisor. She was a former member of the Pilot Club of Albany and was an avid tennis player for many years.


Mrs. Dellinger was preceded in death by her husband, Julian D. Dellinger; mother Alice Gray Sellers; father Thomas Clephton Sellers; sisters: Margie S. Pierce and Jane S. Bramlett; brothers: Leonard Lee, T. Kenyon Sellers, Sr. and Weyman G Sellers; nephews: Wayne Lee, Thomas K. Sellers, Jr. and Gray Sellers.


Mrs. Dellinger is survived by a sister: Annette S. Shirah, Albany; nieces: Dolores L. Marr, Burlington Junction, MO, Kendall S. Stover, Minneapolis, MN, Phyllis P. Conrad, Crestview, FL, Miriam P. Sexton, Dothan, AL, Vickie S. Cooper, Thomasville, GA, Wey S. Casper, Watkinsville, GA, Donna S. Hatfield, Watkinsville, GA; nephews: Gene Lee, St. Joseph, MO, Steve Pierce, Montgomery, AL, Keith Pierce, Martinez, GA, Richard Bramlett, Albany and Thomas Shirah, Albany. She is also survived by special friend and caregiver Delores Montgomery, Albany.
