Mrs. Annette Sellers Shirah, 90, of Thomasville, GA died Thursday Aug 4, 2016 at the Legacy Village in Thomasville, GA.

Her funeral service will be held Sunday Aug 7, 2016 3:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern with a private interment to be held later at Floral Memory Gardens. Mr. Bobby Marshall will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Kimbrell-Stern.

Born in Baconton, GA, Mrs. Shirah worked at Coats and Clark as a Lab Technician. She was also was a teacher of the Mentally Challenged Adults working with the State of GA. Mrs. Shirah also worked with Vashti. She was very instrumental in establishing Albany Gospel Chapel under the guidance of Lester Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Lawson H. Shirah Jr; her parents Thomas Clephton Sellers and Alice Grey Sellers; three brothers Kenyon Sellers, Weyman Sellers and Leonard Lee; three sisters Doris Sellers Dellinger, Jane Sellers Bramlett and Margorie Sellers Pierce.

Survivors include a son Thomas Lawson Shirah and his wife Gale of Albany; a daughter Vicki Shirah Cooper and her husband Paul of Thomasville; four grandchildren Lori Shirah Allen of Albany; Thomas Scott Shirah of Fayetteville, GA; Jeffrey Paul Cooper of Valdosta; Philip Andrew Cooper of Valdosta; five great-grandchildren Lauren Allen Alvey, Harrison Scott Shirah, Alexander Lawson Shirah, Hudson Benjamin Cooper and Brooks Lawson Cooper; great-great-grandchild Amelia Jane Alvey with another one on the way; Several nieces and nephews.
