Abigail S. McCowan
At the Chester County Hospital, at 2 O'clock yesterday afternoon, Abigail Sharpless McCowan, of 324 West Union Street, passed away in the 84th year of her age. She had been in fair health until the past week.
Miss McCowan was born in Willistown township, a daughter of the late Thomas and Pheobe Sharpless McCowan. Practically all of her life was spent in West Chester, where she was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
A sister, Isabella, widow of Barclay Lear, survives. Two brothers, Dr. Charles T. McCowan and Alexander T. McCowan, both of West Chester, are deceased.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester for many years.
