Mrs. Catherine Smith Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Catherine (Katie) Flynn Smith, 81, widow of Henry Clinton Smith, died yesterday at the Davis Hospital where she had been undergoing treatment for several weeks.
A native of Jefferson County, she was born at Garretson Landing near Moscow on March 27, 1872, a daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Mary Elizabeth Brent Flynn.
Mrs. Smith received her education in Pine Bluff schools. She made her home in Moscow until 1932, when the family moved to Watson Chapel.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Pine Bluff.
Survivors include one daughter, Maude Smith of Karachi, Pakistan; four sons, Herman Smith of Little Rock, Claude Smith of Pine Bluff, Roy R. Smith of Moscow and Louis Smith of Grady; one sister, Mrs. Missouri Mason of Moscow; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. They will be announced by Robinson's Mortuary.

Funeral Slated Today for Mrs. C. Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine (Katie) Flynn Smith, 81, who died Wednesday afternoon at the Davis hospital, will be held at 2:30 this afternoon from Robinson Mortuary with the Rev. Kenneth L. Spore, pastor of First Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be R. W. McGrew, Pat Patillo, Gus Massanelli, E. W. Brockman Jr., Syrus Bitely of Moscow, Howard Baker of Tamo, and O'Dean Harshaw , and Bobby Bittinger of Grady.
