Daughter of Zachariah Tindall and Sarah Jones
This information was obtained in part from my conversations with Martha Myers of Wren, OH on my trip there in 2002. Martha told me that the First Pleasant View Baptist Church was an old log house that belonged to Nancy Foster. The current building is aprox. two miiles North of Wren. Martha and John Stewart donated the land for the building. The original log house was brought to Martha Myers home in Wren and is now her barn! I took a photo of Martha in front of the barn. What amazing family history!

From the booklet - District of Greenwood to Wren 1883-1976 (a bicentennial publication of the Wren Historical Society - 1776-1976) Page 36 - "PLEASANT VIEW BAPTIST CHURCH was organized in a little log school house half a mile east of Wren in 1850 under the leadership of Rev. D. D. Johnson. Services were held in Wren until 1873 when the meeting place was changed to Foster School two miles north of Wren. There was great opposition to the Baptist principles in the community.

In 1875 the concregation built a meeting house two miles north of Wren located approximately 12 rods west of the present site. This building had two doors, one for men, one for women. When inside, the men sat on one side of the church and the women on the other. Whether this building was moved to the present corner location or a new building built is not clear, but deed records indicate this occurred in 1888. Sunday School classes began in 1875 when the meeting house was completed.

In 1906, the church purchased a house on lots 6 and 7 in Wren for use as the church parsonage. A new parsonage was built on the same location in 1914.

The present church building was erected in 1911. It was extensively remodeled in 1973. The present pastor is Rev. Keith Stille.'
