Billy Clay Burgner, age 63, of Greeneville, died suddenly Friday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a security guard at Greene Valley Developmental Center.
Mr. Burgner was a member of Moose Lodge No. 692 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Andrew Johnson Post No. 1990.
Survivors include a daughter: Deanna Campbell of North Carolina; two grandchildren: Paige Campbell and Abigail Campbell of North Carolina; one sister: Lynnis Faye Stanton; one brother: Tony Burgner; his fiancée: Tammy Gass; one aunt and uncle: Anna and Raymond Hall; and several cousins, all of Greene County.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Nancy and Grover Burgner.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw and the Rev. Lynn Mercer will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will include Gary Arnold, Ralph Hinkle, David Hinkle, Randy Williams, Jerry Johnson and Lynn Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Martin and the staff of Greene Valley Developmental Center.
