On 9 Oct.1854 Nathan Preston, his wife (Hannah) and 12 children left Washington Co., Maine for a home in Pennsylvania. On the 1860 Potter Co., PA census Hannah and her children are living in the household of her oldest son, Samuel (Lemual), but Nathan is not listed. Where the family lived in Sharon Township, Potter Co. is on the New York/Pennsylvania state lines.

Nathan was a circuit rider preacher going about the country in New York Sate and nothing was heard from him again. He is not on any 1860 records, so its assumed he died in New York State before 1860, however read below.

I've just been (FEB 2012) informed that Nathan died in 1855 in Potter Co., Pennsylvania. The name of the informer of the this information is unknown, so I'm unable to verify the date or the location.
