Zelpha J. Harrington passed into the arms of her heavenly Father on August 27, 2006. She was born in Waynoka, OK, September 2, 1912 to Dora Mae and Charles F. Bixler. Zelpha was predeceased by her first husband, Dr Luther Crump, a well-known veterinarian in the Yukon area, and instrumental in rescuing Grady, the prized cow, from the silo. She was also predeceased by her second husband and solemate, Jack M. Harrington, an accountant and Oklahoma City native. Zelpha had a zest for life. She and Jack enjoyed entertaining, dancing and playing bridge. Zelpha had a passion for hats and style; she designed and sewed many of her fashionable clothes. In the 1960s Zelda was a beauty consultant for a well-known cosmetic line. Zelpha was a member of Crown Heights Christian Church.
She is survived by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Hubert Elliott, formerly of Oklahoma City and now residing in Tulsa; niece, Latrisia Heard and husband Allan from Ormond Beach, FL; loving nephews and nieces; longtime friend, Eva McRhee of Yukon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Frieda Harrington of OKC, Marian and Bill Price of St Louis; and special friends who gave her loving help, Lynn Wolfe and Kathryn Corley; and other loving friends. She is predeceased by sisters, Hazel Gard, Letha Kinney and Lucille Ediger; brothers, Lawrence Bixler and Lloyd Bixler. The family will hold a viewing from 7 to 9 pm Friday, September 1, 2006 at Smith & Kernke, Oklahoma City. Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Crown Heights Christian Church, Oklahoma City. (Smith & Kernke)
