Mr. Wendell D. "Windy" Ringle, 88, of 318 Pontiac, Rochester, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Friday at home.

He was born in Plymouth, on March 5, 1923, the son of Frank E. and Eldora Pet Elkins Ringle. As one of eight children, Wendell shared his childhood with three brothers and four sisters.

On Oct. 23, 1970, Windy and Carole Hollar were married in Plymouth. Together they shared life's adventures for over 41 years. In their earlier years, they annually planted a truck patch garden, supplying friends and family with fresh vegetables and fruits. The garden's bounty was also canned for later use.

The weekends took Wendell and Carole to many garage sales, hunting for the bargain of the day. As avid antiquers, they had visited nearly every antique story in a 30-mile radius. Eating out at various locales was also an activity they enjoyed together.

Windy loved going to car shows. Two of his most treasured cars were his 1936 Chevy and his 1954 Studebaker. He once was recognized with his Studebaker with the first prize in the antique car competition at the Argos 4th-a-bration several years ago. Windy cherished Gigi, his faithful French Poodle.

Windy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carole, at home; three daughters, Rose Archambeault and husband John, of Argos, Tina Flynn, of Rochester, and Sharon Turner, of Argos; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Ringle, of Plymouth; extended family members, Elmer Stiles and wife Alice, of Plymouth, Don Stiles and wife Diane, of Plymouth, Rich Stiles and wife Hotsako, of Plymouth, Betty Sarna, of Plymouth, and Wanda Bassett, of Meridan, Conn.; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and canine companion, Gigi, a black French Poodle.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis D. Ringle; a daughter, Donna Treber; three brothers, Marvin "Mike" Ringle, Francis Ringle, and Ray Ringle; and four sisters, Dorothy Lee, Gene Andrews, Louise Casper and Phyllis Lyons.

Wendell's family is honoring his wishes of no services.

The Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, has been entrusted with his arrangements. Online messages of sympathy or lighting a candle to honor Wendell's memory may be sent by visiting www.goodfamilyfh.com.
