Phena Crowder Ralston was born August 14, 1859. Her 65 years, 5 months and 8 days were spent entirely in her native county. She was one of a family of eight children, six girls and two boys. She spent her young life with her parents. When she grew to young womanhood, she married Mr. Bazzel Ralston, forty-seven years ago last February. To this union two children were born - a boy and a girl. During her married life of nearly half a centry, she labored hard and constantly for the support of her family. She will be missed by the many that she and her daughter labored for. Several years ago she united with the Baptist Church at Nebo, Illinois. During her life time the family moved from place to place and in this way made many friends and neighbors.

In her last illness she suffered much but bore it patiently and in the very beginning of her illness God called her only daughter Lola. Then no doubt she missed her kindly ministration, but loving neighbors and friends did all they could for her but of no avail. She was taken from them on Jan. 22, 1925 at her home in Pleasant Hill.

She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, one son Lester of Rockport, three grandchildren, two sisters Mrs. Nancy Ash of Pleasant Hill, Mrs Elizabeth Lewis of California; three half sisters Jennie Scranton of Milton, Mrs. Etta Wiedner and Laura Pierce of St. Louis.

Just ten days ago her only daughter, Lola, was called into the other world.

Two brothers, Austin and Frank Crowder and one sister Mrs. Ella Weaver preceded her in death.

Mrs. Ralston's funeral was conducted in the Baptist Church Friday, afternoon January 23 at 2 o'clock by Milo E. Galloway.

The family and relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their loved ones.
