Walton, of Anna, was killed Tuesday (16 Feb 1909), in an Illinois Central train wreck near Carbondale, Jackson County [Illinois Central passenger train No. 205], aged 75 years, 7 months, 22 days, and was buried in Jonesboro Cemetery beside her husband. She was the daughter of Winstead Davie and married on 26 Mar 1854, James K. Walton, who died a number of years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. She was the mother of Winstead D. Walton, Ed B. Walton, Sheriff James K. Walton, William Walton, Charles Walton, Samuel Walton, Mrs. Mary Merker, of Belleville, St. Clair County.
