A daughter of Rev. George and Mary (Knisely) Batzel. She was twice married. She was united in marriage with George W. Greenawalt on July 25, 1919. He died Dec. 14, 1953. On March 31, 1955, she married Emory Ritchey, who died Sept. 14, 1966.
She was survived by the following children:
Donald T. Greenawalt (husband of Jane Wilt) of Falmouth, Va.; Mary Alice (wife of Frank Guyer), and William E. Greenawalt, both of Riverside, Calif.; George J. Greenawalt (husband of the former Marie Karns) of Everett RD 1; Betty (wife of Robert Ebersole) of Loysburg; Shirley (wife of Lawrence Hill) of New Hope; Frank D. Greenawalt (husband of the former Shirley Winesickle) of Bedford; James H. Greenawalt of Chicago; and Joseph P. Greenawalt of Everett Rd 2; 35 grandchildren; 52 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; three step-children; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert R., and a daughter, Edna; four brothers and a sister.

She was a lifelong member of Bethel Church of the Brethren,
Tatesville.

Obituary of Elva Ritchey
Elva Greenawalt Ritchey, 91, of Pennknoll Village, formerly of Everett RD 2, died Friday, May 13, 1994, in Pennknoll Village.
A funeral was held Tuesday at Bethel Church of the Brethren, Tatesville, by the Rev. Richard Gillin.
Burial was in Bethel Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ritchey was born Nov. 7, 1902, in Hopewell Township, the daughter of the Rev. George and Mary (Knisely) Batzel.
She married George Greenawalt on July 25, 1919. He died Dec. 14, 1953. On March 31, 1955, she married Emory Ritchey, who died Sept. 14, 1966.
Surviving are nine children, all to her first husband: Donald T. of Falmouth, Va.; Mary Alice Guyer and William E., both of Riverside, Calif., George J. of Everett RD 1; Betty Ebersole of Loysburg; Shirley Hill of New Hope, Bucks County; Frank D. of Bedford; James H. of Chicago; and Joseph P. of Everett RD 2; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
