Mary Elizabeth Robinson Burtch ("Liz") of Venice, Fla., died on Sept. 21 at the age of 88. She was born on Sept. 4, 1923 in Warren, Ohio. She attended The Grier School for Girls in Tyron, Pa.; Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pa.; and Katherine Gibbs in Boston, Mass.
After spending many happy childhood summers in The Thousand Islands in upstate New York, she married Jack W. Burtch of Alexandria Bay, N.Y. on Jan. 26, 1946. They made their first home in Niles, Ohio and moved to Warren, Ohio in 1965. There, Liz was active in charitable causes and a regular on the golf course. She served as a member of the Art and Drama Club, the Women's Board of Trumbull Memorial Hospital, the Youngstown, Ohio Junior League and the Symphony Board. In retirement, she and her husband moved to Osprey, Fla., where she became a member of the Sarasota Fine Arts Society, the Venice Art Center, and Mission Valley Country Club.
She leaves her husband of 65 years, Jack Burtch; sons, Jack W. Burtch, Jr. of Richmond, Va. and Bruce William Burtch of San Rafael, Calif.; grandsons, Anson James Burtch and Douglas Robinson Burtch: and three great-grandchildren.
