Henry Taylor, 64, the husband of Barbara Taylor of Nottaway Dr. in Nicholasville, died at his home Sept 15, 2000 after a brief illness. He was a native of Pineville, Ky. The son of the late Grant and Josie Taylor. Mr. Taylor retired after serving 20 years in the Navy and then retired from the Lex. Fayette Urban Co. Government Sanitary Sewers Division, where he was an electronics manager supervisor. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Vickie and Danny Shearer of Nicholasville; a son and his wife Scott and Serita Taylor of Buford, SC.; 3 brothers, Jennings Taylor of Carleton, Mich., Johnny Taylor of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and Foister Talyor of Versailles; 2 sisters Opal Wilder of Crestwood, Ky., Betty Sue Abney of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews; 5 grandchildren, Tabatha Shearer, Daniel Shearer, Ashley Taylor, Andrea Taylor and Jordan Taylor. He was a special son-in-law of Roy and Coreen Miller of Virginia. Preceded in death by -----. Funeral services were held at 10 am on Tuesday at Edgewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Harrison officiating. Burial followed at the Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by Betts and West Funeral Home. Bearers were David Shepard, Mike Clayton, Jennings Taylor, Jr., Mike Smith, Bill Morris, Tom Wathen. Honorary Bears were Jim Harrison, Jimmy Campbell, Carl Webb, Evoyd Horsely, Danny Green, Dan Baker and the deacons of Edgewood Baptist Church. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Jessamine Co. Hospice.
