WILDER, OPAL TAYLOR, 71, of Crestwood KY, passed away peacefully Monday June 14, 2010. She was born in Miracle KY. Opal and her husband James grew up in Bell Co. She felt a deep spiritual connection to the mountains and growing a garden for her family. Opal's kind and generous deeds will be greatly missed. She was a member of Northeast Christian Church and Baptist by faith. She was a retired manager and bookkeeper of Oldham County High School and for South Oldham Middle School and drove a bus for the Oldham County school system. She is preceded in death by her husband James Wilder; parents, Grant and Josie Taylor; and brothers, Jennings, Johnny and Henry Taylor. She is survived by her two daughters, Venus Wilder Elder (Billy) and Vickie Lenora Wilder; two grandchildren, Talley and Shelby Elder; brother Foister Taylor; and a sister, Betty Sue Abney. A celebration of Opal's life will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Oldham County Funeral Home 706 W. Jefferson St. LaGrange, KY, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. until service time Friday.
