Obituary of Stella Francis Harbison Workman

Death of Mrs. John Workman

Passed Away at her Home East of Town Monday Morning
Stella Francis Harbison Workman, was born August 27, 1874 near this city on the old home place, and after a lingering illness passed away at her home near the Pontiac school Monday December 8th, at the age of 39 years, 3 months and 11 days.
The deceased was united in marriage to John Workman January 1st, 1898 and to this union ten children Harry, Robert, Bernice, Otis, Cora, Alta, Ellsworth, Ivory, two dying in infancy. Besides the husband and children, she also leaves to morn her departure, a mother, three brothers, Arthur and Robert Harbison of this city, Charles of London Mills; six sisters, Mrs. W. S. Goodell of Virginia, Mrs. Ed Joyce of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Jerry Lewis, Mrs. Wilby Nall, Mrs. Lee Johnson and Mrs. Joe Lampkin of this city.
The funeral services were held at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. O. H. Meyers, pastor of the M. E. Church officiating. Interment in church cemetery.
"Sleep on dear Stella, And take thy rest,
God called thee home, He thought it best.
‘Tis hard indeed to part with thee, But God's strong arm supporteth me."
