Mrs. E. J. Stoyke 86 Years Old, Dies
STEWARTVILLE - Mrs. E. J. Stoyke, 86, of Stewartville died Tuesday morning at a rest home in Hayfield.
The former Martha Johnson, she was born in Norway Sept. 15, 1870. She came to this country at a early age and settled in the Rock Dell area. She was married to Mr. Stoyke in 1896 in Stewartville and lived there until the present time. He died in 1933.
Mrs. Stoyke was a charter member of Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville and also of the Ladies Aid of that church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Selma Locke of Kingsville, Tex., Mrs. Ernest Welsh of Oelwein, Iowa, Mrs. Alvin Hugstad of Stewartville; one son Ronald of Stewartville; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. One son, Dr. Victor Stoyke died in 1947.
Funeral services will be at the Zion Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. W. C Aaenstad officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.
Friends may call at the Griffin Funeral Home until noon Thursday.
