Charlotte June Holifield DeWitt, 79, of Laurel, died Sunday, August 2, 2015, at home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Highland Baptist Church with visitation to be held at the church beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Dr. Dwight Smith and Rev. Gene Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Park Hills Cemetery.

Mrs. DeWitt was an honors graduate of University of Southern MS. She was employed at Highland Baptist Church as the Director of the Day Care for 30+ years where she touched thousands of lives. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clattis and Faye Holifield; father and mother-in-law, Noel and Alice DeWitt; and granddaughter, Natalie Craft.

Survivors include her husband, Billy DeWitt; sister, Karen Franklin; daughters, Alecia DeWitt Craft and Allison DeWitt Phillips; son, Mike DeWitt and wife, Allison; four grandchildren, Adrienne Craft, Katherine Phillips, Walker DeWitt and Natalie DeWitt; nephew, Greg Ball; niece, Jodi Ball; and a host of beloved cousins.

Pallbearers will be David Freeman, Ric Sumrall, Kenneth Holifield, Jeff Moss, Joe Johnson, and Joe Woodyear. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Moss, Jonathan McKinley, and Walker DeLoitt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 196 Charmant Drive, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
