Born one mile east of Edna Mills, Indiana on Wetzel homestead, traveled throughout the US as a young man, worked at several trades (i.e. railroad, farmer, shoemaker, teacher, clerk in store) Moved to Washington in mid 1910's and settled in Connell, Washington. Moving to Tacoma, Washington in the early 1920's.
