Rose was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Dallas Southern Memorial Association, Cecilian Club, and Wednesday Morning Choral Club.
Joe Field Road in Dallas was named for Rose's husband. Joe was the son of John and Kate Field. His father moved to Dallas County around 1868 and married Miss Katherine (Kate) Knight in 1871. Joe was one of their many children. Joe was born in Dallas County in 1873 on his parents' farm. He was a graduate of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He was a prominent Dallas County rancher for more than sixty years. He owned land along the Trinity River from the northern part of Dallas to Carrollton and was very active for many years in Dallas County politics. (His brother Tom W. Field was a Dallas County commissioner.) Joe was a member of the Farmers Branch Methodist Church and the Masons.
