Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kendall Graves, Pastor of Grace Tabernacle Church, officiating. Graveside services will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.
Elzy was born August 2, 1935 in Vernon, Texas to Henry A. and Nona Mae (Kilpatrick) Garrison. He married Martha Louise Eaton on October 2, 1959 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Iowa Park. He retired from the Oklahoma City Police Department as a Lieutenant and worked five years for the Wichita Falls Police Department.
He leaves behind his wife, Martha; three daughters, Tammy L. Stone and husband, Ron; Glenda R. Garrison; and Carolyn A. Hoffman and husband, Jason; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; Goddaughter and Godson, Linda and Mike; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
"My husband of 52 years was the love of my life, the best husband and friend. He was a wonderful brother to Bill "Son" Garrison and his wife, Reba, and to his sister, "Tootsie." He was a Papa who loved his grandchildren so much. He was loved by all who knew him. He loved the Lord and we shared the Bible every day. Your Loving Wife, Martha."
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation, Grace Tabernacle Church, or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
