Donald James "Skeeter" Prescott, age 83, of Sunnyside, WA. passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Donald or "Skeeter" as he was known was born on November 22, 1928 to Burton and Ruth (Lefgren) Prescott in Ogden, Utah. From 1945 – 1947 he served in the United States Army receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.

On April 24th, 1948 Donald married Ima Jean Smith in Sunnyside, WA. Skeeter owned and operated "The Pub" in Sunnyside, WA. Skeeter loved to fish, watch football and cherished spending time with friends and family. He was also a long time member of the Sunnyside VFW.

Skeeter is survived by his children, Mike (Joyce) Prescott of Tillamook, OR., Dave (Bev) Prescott of Yakima, WA. and Cherl Leman (Guy) of Ellensburg, WA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, siblings Ralph (Alice) Prescott of Sunnyside, WA., Bud (Ellen) Prescott of Longview, WA., Betty England of Walla Walla, WA., Barb Hogan of Kelso, WA., Margie (Buster) VanBelle of Longview, WA., Helen (Jim) McGlinchey of Longview, WA. and Joyce (Larry) Armstong of Pateros, WA.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ima Jean Prescott, son, Wayne Prescott, his parents, Burton and Ruth Prescott, sisters, Erma Graff and Shirley White and brother, Grant Prescott.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA. A "Celebration of Life Service" will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Sunnyside VFW. At the Family's request any memorials may be given to Lower Valley Hospice.
