Mildred I. Roberts, 74, 1602 S. Hennepin, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital emergency room after a long illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christy Morningside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Douglas C. Young of St. Paul's Lutheran officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Roberts, the former Mildred Kemp, was born Dec. 25, 1917, at Wausa, Neb. She moved to Niobrara, Neb., as a child and was raised there. She married Willis Bert Bentz Dec. 13, 1935, in Center, Neb. She married Orville Roberts Dec. 25, 1943, at Elk Point, S.D. She worked for Dudley's Laundry in Norfolk for 12 years. She moved to Sioux City in 1974, and worked for Cussack Laundry for 7 years and Means Service for 3 years. Mr. Roberts died here in 1978. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran and Lutheran Social Services. Survivors include a son, Willis Bentz, Jr. of Adel, Iowa; two brothers, Alfred Kemp of Sioux City and Albert Kemp of Niobrara; a grandson, William Bentz of Des Moines, and three step grandchildren. In addition to her husband Orville, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
