Willis "Bill" Bentz, 58, of Adel died of cancer Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center. Mr. Bentz was born in Niobrara, Neb., and moved to Adel from the Panora area two years ago. He was a self-employed carpenter. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; a son, William, and a stepdaughter, Nancy Ryan, both of Des Moines; a stepson, Mitchell Hall of North Liberty; and five grandchildren. Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American cancer Society.
