James Pexton, 74, died Saturday morning, July 10, 1948 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mr. Pexton was born April 25, 1874 in Beverley, England, the son of Thomas and Mary Pexton. He came to this country at the age of five years and grew up in Ohio and Nebraska. In 1901 he was united in marriage with Lillian Hinsdall. They moved to Washington in 1903 where they lived until coming to Douglas in 1913, settling on a ranch west of Douglas. For the last three years Mr. Pexton has been in ill health and lived with a son, George, in Cheyenne. Mrs. Pexton preceded him in death. Survivors include his son George in Cheyenne, another son, Fred, who is serving with the merchant marines; a nephew, Lisle Pexton of Douglas, and a niece, Mrs. Fred Hildebrand, also of Douglas.
