Edwin Wolford Chapman, 92, the father of area residents, died Saturday, August 17 at his home in Jamestown, Ky.

Mr. Chapman was born April 24, 1910 in Russell, Ky., a son of the late James and Pearl (Blankenship) Chapman.

He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Kendrick of Noblesville, Louise Watts of Knightstown, Emma Hall of Knightstown, and Judy Foley, Nicholasville, Ky.; six sons, Arondell Chapman of Greenfield, Bobby Chapman, St. Augustine, Fla., Wallace Chapman of Greenfield, Donald Chapman, Vero Beach, Fla., Larry Chapman, Jamestown, Ky. and Roger Chapman, Russell Springs, Ky.; two brothers, Alford Chapman of Noblesville and Luther Chapman of Russell Springs, Ky.; two sisters, Sadie Bernard of Alabama, and Ollie Roe Mann of Jamestown, Ky.; 28 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Kennett, Della Grider, Bonnie Chapman, and four brothers, Carlos, Arlos, Cordell and Avery Chapman.

Services for Mr. Chapman were held Tuesday, August 20 at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Wendell Roberts officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Jamestown, Ky.

Visitation for family and friends was Monday, August 19 at the funeral home
