She moved to Charlotte in 1969 to manage Vaughn's Clothing Store and continued to manage nd own various retail shops in Charlotte, including LeeAnne's, TG&Y, June's House of Fashion and the Emporium Gift Shop. June became a realtor in the 1980's, working with Century 21, Frontier Real Estate, Re/Max and Emerald Realty until her retirement a few years ago in her 80's.
She was very active in the Charlotte Downtown Development Authority, and many will remember her involvement throughout the community.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Maurice Umbarger; children Terry (Carla) Cleveland of Bancroft, MI, Randy (Christy) Cleveland of Kaycee, WY, Candice (Ron Keefer) Cleveland of Sunfield, MI, Sheri (David) Cereska of Mount Pleasant, MI, Rick (Denise) Cleveland of St. Claire, MI; step-children Christine (Umbarger) Wagner of Tillamook, OR, and Bruce Umbarger of New York, NY; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-granchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her mother Orpha (Barhitte) Tower and brother Leo Tower.
Funeral Services was held Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, MI.
